MateriO'

BLUEWASHING Exhibition: Moving Beyond Greenwashing to Rethink Material Impact
At a time when environmental challenges demand informed choices, the selection of materials in any design or production project is more critical than ever. The independent international observatory matériO’, specialized in innovative materials, presents the BLUEWASHING exhibition as a thought-provoking — and necessary — counterpoint:
Can we truly label materials as either “good” or “bad” for the environment? The answer is far more complex.

With BLUEWASHING, matériO’ showcases an intentionally arbitrary selection of around thirty materials… all blue. From sky blue to navy, cyan to ultramarine — the common thread is chromatic, not ecological. The aim: to spark curiosity, encourage dialogue, and emphasize a core message — environmental responsibility lies not in the color or image of a material, but in the intelligence of its use.

An original exhibition that calls for a more nuanced, thoughtful approach — so that our blue planet may remain blue for generations to come.

Besign, The Sustainable Design School

Designing with purpose: students imagine how tomorrow’s brands can protect the ocean
As part of the Year of the Sea, BESIGN The Sustainable Design School, returns to LUXE PACK Monaco with an inspiring activation led by a new generation of international design students.

Under the theme “OCEAN CONTEST: How can brands take action for ocean protection?”, students collaborated in multidisciplinary teams to develop two innovative projects combining design, packaging, and new materials. Their mission: to explore how brands can actively contribute to ocean preservation through creative, meaningful, and responsible solutions.

Visitors are invited to discover these forward-thinking concepts on-site, meet the students, and engage with ideas driven by a strong commitment to positive impact.

This initiative reflects BESIGN’s core mission: training designers to tackle environmental and societal challenges through purposeful creation.
