Beauty: Amid Market Pressures and Regulatory Change, Bormioli Luigi Bets on Agility and Innovation
As the beauty industry navigates an increasingly uncertain economic and geopolitical environment, brands are facing a growing number of challenges, including persistent inflation, international tensions, supply chain constraints, and mounting regulatory pressure driven by the implementation of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Against this backdrop, Bormioli Luigi is strengthening its support for beauty players with an expanded offering that ranges from standard solutions to highly customized projects, while fully integrating eco-design principles and sustainability requirements.

According to Simone Baratta, Director of Bormioli Luigi’s Beauty Business Unit, the beauty market continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience, even though growth dynamics have become more uneven than in the past.
“The market remains resilient, but it has become more heterogeneous,” he explains. Geopolitical tensions, rising costs, and declining purchasing power are directly influencing brands’ decision-making processes, leading many to adopt a more cautious approach to product launches.

Nevertheless, several categories continue to show strong momentum. Fragrances remain particularly dynamic, while skincare and make-up are gradually regaining strength, driven in large part by renewed demand in Asia and the United States. Conversely, channels such as travel retail, along with regions including the Middle East, remain more exposed to the uncertainties of the current international landscape.
Despite this cautious environment, innovation continues to play a central role in brand strategies. The market is still hungry for newness, and companies willing to take bold initiatives often outperform expectations. “Brands that dare to innovate frequently achieve results beyond what they anticipated,” notes Simone Baratta.
To meet these evolving expectations, Bormioli Luigi is relying on a flexible and comprehensive offering. The group is developing solutions based on circular economy principles—including lightweight, refillable, and recyclable packaging—while maintaining its ability to deliver highly customized creations for both major beauty houses and niche brands.

In an industry where innovation cycles are accelerating and regulatory requirements are becoming increasingly stringent, agility is emerging as a key success factor. This is a conviction shared by Bormioli Luigi, which aims to support brands as they adapt to new market realities while continuing to foster creativity and innovation.
