Aptar Beauty deciphers the new dynamics of the global fragrance market
Sophie Magdelaine, Global Fragrance Platform Senior Manager, and Xavier Joseph, VP Global Marketing & Innovation at Aptar Beauty, analyze the key trends shaping today’s fragrance market and their impact on innovation.
The market is currently polarizing between accessibility and ultra-premium. At the same time, sustainability is becoming central, notably driven by the regulations expected by 2030. Priorities are shifting toward refill systems, recyclability, and all-plastic solutions.
Formats are also evolving. Traditional 50 to 100 ml bottles are gradually losing ground to mini bottles, generally ranging from 5 to 20 ml. These formats are particularly suited to on-the-go use, while also enabling product testing or reapplication.
In addition, hair & body mists (150 to 200 ml) are experiencing strong growth, driven by Generation Z. This segment has notably recorded an 83% increase in the United States.
In response to these changes, innovation at Aptar Beauty is focused on the development of premium mini formats, sustainable packaging, and increasingly sophisticated spray experiences.
