Biography: Dr. Mireille “Mimi” Vega is a biochemist, microbiome scientist, entrepreneur, and founder with more than 35 years of experience working across science, health, and biotechnology. With a PhD in enzymology and a background spanning biochemistry, immunology, and oncology, she has built her career around understanding complex biological systems—and making that science practical and accessible in everyday life. Today, Dr. Mimi focuses much of her work on skin health, the microbiome, healthy aging, and the connections between the skin and the rest of the body. She is the founder behind VGAM BIOME, a science-led Canadian skincare company, and the creator of the ONE HUMAN SKIN™ philosophy. Her approach looks beyond conventional skin “types” and isolated concerns to understand the skin as a living, interconnected organ with multiple protective barriers and a close relationship to our immune and overall health. Her upcoming book, ONE HUMAN SKIN, brings this philosophy to a wider audience, translating decades of science into a more understandable approach to caring for our skin and ourselves. The book is scheduled for release in January 2027, with pre-orders opening in fall 2026. As a speaker, Dr. Mimi is known for making complicated science engaging, relatable, and useful—helping audiences better understand what their skin may be telling them and how everyday choices can support both skin and long-term health.
