- Founded in 1982, MGI Digital Technology is the Graphic Arts division of MGI Group, a French industrial group specialising in the development of digital technologies for the graphic arts, packaging and converting industries, as well as industrial electronics, including printed circuit boards and semiconductors. Having pioneered digital print embellishment in 2008, MGI Digital Technology is now the global leader in this sector, with nearly 1,500 active installations worldwide. These technologies are available for both sheet-fed and roll-to-roll applications, enabling the embellishment of a wide range of substrates, including board, paper, self-adhesive labels, plastics and metal. Applications include selective UV varnishing and digital hot foiling, with flat or raised effects, using either fixed or variable data. As a technology provider to printers and converters, MGI Digital Technology develops solutions designed to reduce their environmental impact, notably through deinkability and the elimination of intermediate consumables and tooling. These technologies help printers and converters address the growing expectations of brands in terms of sustainability and environmental responsibility, while providing new possibilities for the enhancement and personalisation of printed products and packaging. Listed on Euronext and operating six production facilities in France and Germany, MGI Group employs 250 people. The Group’s Graphic Arts division is distributed worldwide by Konica Minolta.
