French company Lorcos claims to have been the first to launch a waterless (and soap-free) shampoo in 2010. Combining environmental protection with efficacious and sensorial products is its guiding principle—and a challenge for the entire sector.
Having a history of expertise in cosmetics doesn’t mean one can rest on one’s laurels. At least, not for Lorcos (Lorraine Cosmétique). The full service French company (€11.5m in sales revenue in 2023 and 70 employees) launched in 1954 near Paris, uses its technical know-how to address new beauty trends, while responding to clients demands—brands such as La Roche Posay, Mustela and Yves Rocher as well as pharmaceutical players like Evolupharm—to develop, manufacture and package new products. As such, Lorcos claims to have been the first cosmetic company to develop a solid, soap-free shampoo, in 2010.
