50 Cent and Lalique unveil a collaboration around a crystal cognac
The Branson Cognac brand of New York rapper 50 Cent (Sire Spirits) presents a limited edition created with the French crystal maker Lalique. The hand-crafted decanter is accompanied by a wood and composite marble case.
The origin of the project goes back to 2019, when Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson approached Lalique to imagine a collaboration that would give rise, six years later, to the 505 Edition Branson Cognac. During this time, Jackson explored the archives, techniques, and materials with the Lalique artisans in the workshops in Alsace, France.
The inspiration for the main packaging comes from the early 20th-century perfume bottles created by René Lalique. The design, developed with Lalique’s Creative Director, Marc Larminaux, adopts a contemporary aesthetic and highlights a “majestic lion,” symbolizing “strength and mastery.”
The bespoke crystal decanter is made from blown and pinched glass, then cut, engraved, polished, and signed by hand. Each piece is individually numbered, for a collection limited to 505 decanters.
